My Three Top Tips (backstroke) - Charlie Boldison

This week, Backstroke swimmer Charlie Boldison (University of Stirling Swimming), shares his top three tips for swimmers:

  1. Keep your hips up & don't let them sink in the water by engaging your core

  2. Get a catch on the water as early as possible

  3. Ensure you hold the water all the way through the pulling phase and finish the stroke at your side rather than finishing with your hands out wide from your body. Keep a consistent leg kick going, 6 beat leg kicks work best for most, (3 kicks per arm pull)
