The 27 year old from Garioch used her trusted breaststroke leg to move up the field and she finished her semi-final in 6th place in a time of 2:12.15. Team-mate Siobhan-Marie O’Connor went in the same semi-final and dominated the race finishing in 2:07.57, a new British Record. That time also put O’Connor through as the fastest qualifier for tomorrow’s final. In other events James Guy finished 4th in the 200m freestyle final. Going in lane 8 Guy (Millfield) took the pack on but was just edged out of the medals finishing in 1:45.49. Tuesday’s schedule is a busy one for Scottish athletes, with Duncan Scott going in the heats of the 100m freestyle and Craig Benson in the 200m breaststroke heats. The Men’s 4x200m freestyle relay is also decided tomorrow with GBR being the current World Champions in the event.
