Milne Concludes Rio Campaign

Following medal success in the 4x200m freestyle Stephen Milne would have been keen to get back in the pool to compete and is wait was finally over today as he took to the blocks for the heats of the 1500m freestyle.

Going in lane 1 of the final heat, Milne (Perth City Swim Club) didn’t let the occasion get to him, keeping to his own race plan and finishing 4th in 14.57.23, 10th overall for the event.

Tim Shuttleworth of Loughborough University was also in action, he finished 15:13.01, 27th overall.

The Men’s 4x100m medley relay quartet (Chris Walker-Hebborn, Adam Peaty, James Guy and Duncan Scott) broke the British Record with 3:30.47 as they qualified fastest for tomorrow’s final.

The Women’s 4x100m medley relay quartet (Georgia Davies, Chloe Tutton, Siobhan-Marie O’Connor and Georgia Coates) also secured a spot in tomorrow’s final for GBR finishing 8th in the heats with a time of 3:59.34.

Later tonight Jazz Carlin will be in action in the 800m freestyle final and Ben Proud will also be in action in the final of the 50m freestyle. Fran Halsall qualified 2nd fastest for the semi-finals of the 50m freestyle.
