Scottish Swimming seeks Safeguarding Officer

Scottish Swimming is looking to contract a Safeguarding Officer to work alongside the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Services to drive forward all wellbeing, safeguarding and child protection activity for Scottish Swimming.

As Safeguarding Officer, you will be the first point of contact for dealing with wellbeing; safeguarding and child protection cases and you will work closely with key groups to ensure that Scottish Swimming’s policies are updated in line with legislation.

We are looking for someone who has proven experience in dealing with wellbeing, safeguarding and child protection issues. Good communication and influencing skills are a must as is being a strong team player.

Key Functions:

  • Lead with primary responsibility for wellbeing; safeguarding and child protection in Scottish Swimming.
  • Provide advice and guidance to Scottish Swimming in all areas of child protection.
  • Lead on the review and development of Scottish Swimming policies to ensure they meet current legislation.

Scottish Swimming is committed to selecting contractors solely on the basis of their ability to do the job for which they are being contracted, and welcomes applications from all sectors of the community.

The initial contract for services is for a 12 month period this will be reviewed annually and there will be an opportunity for the contract to be extended for a further 12 months.
