Robbie, who has featured in every major Olympic or world championship for Britain since 2007, is an inspiration to swimmers of all ages and is also a real team athlete, playing a key role in the 200m freestyle relay teams in several international championships. The Master Class with Robbie filled up fast with swimmers of all abilities and levels keen to get top tips and advice on technique, training and competition from one of the nation’s best performers. Our Masters members range from swimmers who like to compete on the national and even the world stage, to non-competitive swimmers who enjoy swimming for health, fitness and fun. Masters clubs are also a great way to meet like-minded people who quickly become friends and there is a great social element to many clubs. The day began with a talk and Q & A session from Robbie followed by a land training session with foam rollers to work on general fitness before moving to the pool where Robbie provided technique training and advice as well as a demonstration of his own excellent stroke technique in the pool. Comments on the day included: “Brilliant afternoon thanks to everyone involved in organising it.
