IMPORTANT: Helix Open Water Events CANCELLED

The health and safety of our participants is of the utmost importance to Scottish Swimming, Triathlon Scotland and Falkirk Community Trust

It is with regret that we must inform you that the Open Water Swimming events on Saturday 20th May at the Helix Lagoon in Falkirk are cancelled.

We have been informed by our partners, Falkirk Community Trust, that due to low water quality levels, the Helix Lagoon will be closed until levels return to a standard that is considered safe.  Water testing is carried out frequently in the lead up to all our open water events, and due to a number of reasons out with our control, the quality of the water has decreased, and is not deemed safe for swimmers.

The health and safety of our participants is of the utmost importance to Scottish Swimming, Triathlon Scotland and Falkirk Community Trust, so the decision to cancel the event has been made.

We sincerely apologise for the short notice given and any inconvenience caused by the cancellation and will be issuing you with a full refund for your ticket, which will will reach your account within the next five working days.

We have two further coached Open Water Swimming participation events in the coming months and these are taking place at Knockburn Sports Loch, near Banchory on Saturday 3rd June and at Loch Lomond on Saturday 5th August.  We also have a 1.5k Challenge event at Lochore Meadows on Sunday 4th June, further information on all of the events can be found HERE

Apologies once again for the cancellation of the event but we hope you understand our reasons behind the decision.

Kind Regards

The Scottish Swimming and Triathlon Scotland Teams
