New Swimwear Policy

Scottish Swimming is fully committed to the principles and practice of equality of opportunity for all – our vision is everyone can swim!

Scottish Swimming seeks to promote a sport that does not unreasonably restrict participation and for those competitions and events that are under the direct jurisdiction and control of Scottish Swimming, we have revised our Swimwear Policy and will allow suitable swimwear that competitors require to wear as an alternative to FINA compliant swimwear.

Full details of the policy can be found HERE.

Scottish Swimming is fully committed to the principles of Equality and equal opportunities and is responsible for ensuring that no job applicant, employee or member receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of the nine protected characteristics (age, ability, sex, sexual orientation, race, religion or belief, gender reassignment, marriage & civil partnership and pregnancy & maternity).

In addition Scottish Swimming will endeavour to provide open access to all those who wish to participate in swimming within the competitive environment through its organisation of affiliated clubs and it will work closely with key partners and local authorities to help influence other organisations do the same within different aspects of the sport.

As part of our work towards the Equality Standard for Sport’s advanced standard, Scottish Swimming has developed an equality video showcasing swimming as a sport for all, a sport for life.
