Thursday, February 8, 2018 David Carry Appointed to British Swimming Board With the appointment of former double Commonwealth Games Gold medallist & three times Olympian, David Carry, to British Swimming’s Board of Directors, Scottish Swimming must announce Carry’s departure from its own Board of Directors. Carry who retired from competitive swimming after the London 2012 Olympic Games, has most recently gained success as Co-founder of Track Record Coaching and Triscape, and was appointed to the Scottish Swimming Board back in 2013. He said, “It has been a great pleasure and privilege to have been on the Scottish Swimming Board for the last four years. I have learned a great deal and this has been a huge support in my transition from athlete to business career. “I’m proud of the work the Board has achieved, providing the leadership and stability for our sport in Scotland. Some of the highlights have been; enhancing the high Performance Centre environments in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stirling, developing a strong commercial partnership with Scottish Water and of course capitalising on the excitement from Glasgow 2014. “I now look forward to contributing towards the British Swimming Board at a pivotal time in our sport.” Scottish Swimming’s Chief Executive, Forbes Dunlop, commented, “David has made a great contribution to the Board and the direction of Scottish Swimming in a relatively short period of time. While we are sorry to see him go, we recognise that this is a great opportunity for him to further influence our sport on a National level. “He goes with our thanks and our very best wishes.” Carry will step down from Scottish Swimming’s Board with immediate effect with his role on the British Swimming Board starting on 3rd February.
