Monday, March 19, 2018 Reid wins silver with Daley in last meet before Gold Coast 2018 Grace Reid and Tom Daley continued their strong start to the 2018 season by claiming silver on the third and final day of the Japanese leg of the 2018 FINA Diving World Series. The pair's final score of 299.25 was enough to pip the Russians to second place in the 3m Synchro. Reid and Daley were in contention for a medal throughout but a dive of 69.75 in the final round pushed them above the Russian pair. The British duo's best dive came in the third round of the final, an inward 3.5 somersaults in pike position that scored 72.00 points. Reid and Daley also won silver last week in China in the first round of this year's FINA World Diving Series. This meet represented the last competitive outing for Reid and Daley before the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in April, and the positive result leaves them in good stead heading to Australia. Gold went to China's Wang Han and Li Zheng in a repeat of last week's Beijing leg, with a score of 328.50, while Nadezhda Bazhina and Nikita Shleikher took the bronze for Russia with 299.10 points.
