Scottish Swimming Club Framework | Draft Consultation

Scottish Swimming will continue to work in partnership with clubs to grow active membership and increase the opportunities offered for people to take part in club swimming or other aquatic disciplines.  In addition, we want to work collaboratively with clubs to develop quality environments where the required coaching, practice time and attitudes are fostered and displayed to support the progression of athletes aspiring to world-class performance.

To support this Scottish Swimming consulted with clubs, districts, partners and members around what makes a quality club environment and if there was a need for a club framework.  We also discussed what additional support, resource and education clubs required to deliver quality environments.

Stronger, Sustainable Clubs: A Framework for Delivering Quality Club Environments has evolved from these discussions and aims to help clubs reflect on how they operate and builds on the existing support and resources available to clubs across Scotland.  The framework aims to be flexible and simple, delivering a non-prescriptive approach to supporting clubs delivering quality environments.

The Framework is currently in DRAFT format and can be downloaded via the link at the top of this page, with comments and suggestions welcome as to how we can improve the content, language and presentation.  Feedback is due by Friday 22 June and should be made to Sarah Pryde-Smith, Club Development Manager on 07917 875447 or via email - s.pryde-smith@scottishswimming.com

The aim is to finalise the framework after feedback has been received and launch in August 2018.
