But before that starts, a group of young Scottish divers fly out of Edinburgh Airport today to compete at the Eindhoven Diving Cup. The competition takes place over three days (31st Jan – 3rd Feb) and is held at the Pieter van den Hoogenband Swimming stadium in Eindhoven, and attracts age group and senior divers from across Europe. The Eindhoven Diving Cup has almost 250 participants from 20 different countries and over 600 starts every year. The Scottish Divers will be attending as part of the Scottish Youth Development Squad, with the competition offering an opportunity for the divers to experience competing against some tough European opposition. The five divers travel with a strong staff of two coaches and a team manager, and aim to continue their development through the implementation of process goals and skill under increased pressure. Previewing the competition, National Diving Coach Jen Leeming said, “This is an excellent competition for the divers to attend and presents them with the chance to test themselves against some challenging competition from outwith Britain. As part of the YDS, we very much hope that the divers will enjoy the experience but also use the opportunity in order to further progress their competition skills and implement the new dives and technique learned throughout the season so far.” The schedule of events for the meet can be found HERE The website and link to live streaming can be found HERE Divers Angus Menmuir Chloe Sinclair Lachlan Stark Lewis Thomas Rayne Hamilton Coaches Judy Wardlaw Rebecca Gallantree Team Manager Nuala Deans
