Wednesday, March 27, 2019 Scottish Swimming announce Euan Lowe as the next Chief Executive Officer Euan Lowe will take up the post of Chief Executive Officer of Scottish Swimming in June “This is an incredible opportunity to work with a leading sporting body and being part of the team at Scottish Swimming." Euan Lowe Scottish Swimming today announced Euan Lowe as its new Chief Executive Officer. He will take up his role with the governing body in June 2019. Lowe has extensive experience and success within sport in Scotland and is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Scottish Gymnastics. Since taking over in 2014 Scottish Gymnastics has grown its membership from 17,500 to over 30,000, a success achieved by working with the whole gymnastics community and with strong local and national partnerships. Lowe said of his appointment, “This is an incredible opportunity to work with a leading sporting body and being part of the team at Scottish Swimming. For me, a sport is all about its clubs and the people involved, and I look forward to getting to know everyone as we take the sport forward. “I feel privileged to have had a part in the growth of gymnastics in Scotland with a hard working team of staff, board and dedicated volunteers and I’d like to thank everyone and wish you continued success.” Graeme Marchbank, Chair of the Scottish Swimming Board, is pleased about the appointment, he said: “Euan has demonstrated the leadership, experiences and qualities that Scottish Swimming requires to ensure it continues to develop excellence in all areas of our work. He also has the vision and innovation to develop and implement Scottish Swimming’s next strategic plan, which will run from 2021. With a clear understanding of governing bodies, I believe that Euan has the right set of skills and experience to lead the organisation into and through its next exciting period of development, and I am delighted to welcome him to the team on behalf of whole of Scottish Swimming.” Lowe leaves his current role as Chief Executive Officer at Scottish Gymnastics to take up post in June, succeeding Forbes Dunlop, who leaves Scottish Swimming in April after six successful years, to return to sportscotland as their Chief Operating Officer.
