Wednesday, July 10, 2019 US National Championships to provide end of season challenge As part of Scottish Swimming’s on-going commitment to developing the competitive experiences and learning of National Squad Programme swimmers, a team of fourteen athletes will be competing at the forthcoming Phillips 66 US National Championships, which take place at Stanford Avery Aquatic Centre, Stanford, California from July 31st to August 4th. Team Leader for the trip and National Coach, Alan Lynn, said of the opportunity, “Those travelling will be an experienced group of athletes and our intention is to use the trip as a significant competitive challenge and constructive learning experience. “We very much believe that everyone in the group has a chance of qualifying for the Tokyo Olympic Team and feel that this opportunity will provide the right environment to test themselves against some of the best swimmers in the world.” Nine Scottish athletes will be joined by a small, select group from England, Wales and Ireland.
