Toni Shaw nominated for BBC's Young Sports Personality of the Year

World Para Swimming World Champion Toni Shaw was today nominated for the BBC's Young Sports Personality of the Year after a fantastic calendar year.

The University of Aberdeen Performance swimmer has been shortlisted alongside nine other athletes. After six medals as part of the World Para Swimming Championships in London, Toni Shaw has continued to her astonishing development on the world stage. 

Toni claimed two golds, two silvers and two bronze at the London Aquatics Centre in September and continues to go from strength to strength. The Aberdeen born swimmer is part of British Swimming's World Class Performance Programme.

This years BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year winner will be announced on Sunday, 24 November at the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards and will go on to attend BBC Sports Personality of the Year in Aberdeen on 15 December.
