Brian Campbell

Article from Dunfermline Water Polo Club

It is with our deepest regret that we have to advise that Dunfermline Water Polo Club Life Member Brian Campbell has passed away.

Brian was first diagnosed with cancer around 2 years ago. However over the last year he has had to have further treatment but unfortunately his condition deteriorated pretty rapidly in the past week and sadly he passed away peacefully in his sleep at home early on Saturday morning.

Throughout the last year, Brian has been trying to live life as normal as possible, continuing to work and maintain his passion for developing and delivering water polo opportunities for junior players. As a player then coach, team manager and administrator, Brian has touched every part of water polo since first taking up the sport as a young swimmer.

An enormous number of players will have been influenced by Brian who has been a significant part of Dunfermline WPC, Scotland Boys and latterly Caledonia Boys. His drive, passion and commitment will be sorely missed.

The family will announce funeral plans at a later date.

Our thoughts and condolences go out to Vivien and her family at this very difficult time.

RIP Brian Campbell and thank you for making such a huge contribution to water polo in Dunfermline and Scotland.
