Geneva challenge awaits Scottish swimmers

The 53rd running of the CIG Meet in Geneva this weekend marks the start of the long course season for many of Europe’s top swimmers. The 20-strong Scottish Swimming team competing in the Swiss city from 17-19 January 2020 comprises 13 rookies and 7 more experienced swimmers. 18 of the team are juniors and will compete for places in A & B finals, whilst 2 are seniors contesting places in A finals against seasoned Olympic medallists from across Europe.

The team are supported by a full complement of sports science and medicine practitioners designed to give a comprehensive learning experience of how to prepare for and execute race plans and outcomes. Led by National Coach, Alan Lynn, the young group will be looking to build on work covered at the recent camp between Christmas and New Year and set themselves up for the British Championships (incorporating the Team GB Olympic Trials) in April at the London Aquatic Centre.

A team from SASA North will also be in attendance at the event.
