Back to the Water Guidance Hub

As the Scottish Government continues to progress Phase 2 of the route map out of lockdown, Scottish Swimming continues to progress our own Back to the Water guidelines, which we will publish on the new COVID-19 Guidance Hub on the Scottish Swimming website, which can be found HERE.

This page will provide a one-stop-shop for all guidance documents and information on what ‘Back to the Water’ may look like, with new and existing documents added and updated regularly. An archive area will be added to help ensure only the most up to date documents are the ones being referred to. One such document to be updated is the Open Water Swimming Guidance, which was developed in partnership with Swim England, British Triathlon and the RLSS. The latest version of this document can be found HERE.

With Open Water Swimming already allowed as an outdoor activity, new insurance guidelines have been produced, which will be shared on our HIVE Learning platform for Members.

In reference to the daily updates from the Scottish Government, the spread of the Coronavirus does look to be slowing down, and this is thanks to us all working together and adhering to the rules and restrictions around staying at home and staying safe. We sincerely hope that in the coming weeks, we will be able to share with you the details of when we can safely get Back to the Water.

Please bear with us while we continue to work closely with key partners, including facility operators, to develop plans for aquatics which are coordinated, safe and manageable, and which would not put added or new pressure on our key workers.
