New Guidance Documents for Phase 3

New Guidance Documents for Phase 3

In line with the easing of some restrictions for Phase 3 following yesterday’s Scottish Government announcement we have released new guidance which takes into account the Phase 3 changes.

We have published today new Open Water Swimming Guidance and Open Water Swimming Risk Assessments as well as Land Training Guidance on our COVID-19 Hub. Please note that we strongly recommend you do not start open water
swimming, particularly if this is new to you, unless part of a safe, supervised and organised session.

With input from a number of partners across the sector, we will continue to work on new guidance for pool operators, clubs, swim schools and pool users but these cannot be published until approved by the Government and sportscotland. These documents can only be published on our COVID-19 Hub when the Government gives more specific guidance around use of indoor sports spaces and in the meantime we will continue to consult with our key stakeholder groups and update the guidance so that it is ready to publish when approved and in advance of pools opening.

Public health and wellbeing remains the most pressing priority and we all have a responsibility to do what we can to continue to suppress the spread of the virus.

We look forward to our virtual Club Chairs event on 15th July and further SS Connect courses which will be announced in due course. If you have any questions in relation to these documents please contact marketing@scottishswimming.com.
