Scottish Swimming partners with new sports reward and fundraising platform Fantastic Fanatics

Scottish Swimming are delighted to launch a new partnership with innovative and simple fundraising platform, Fantastic Fanatics.

The Aberdeen based company can help our member clubs raise money and further develop our great sport in Scotland. Fantastic Fanatics enables sports clubs to generate funds when their own members shop online or in store, eat out, book hotels and lots more.

Clubs simply just sign up to Fantastic Fanatics online, upload a few verification documents and gain approval. It takes 5 minutes and Fantastic Fanatics provide all the promotional material to help clubs get all their members involved and sign up to support their club.

Members securely register their a debit or credit card, and any purchases they make online via the Fantastic Fanatics website at many major retailers including Boots, Marks and Spencer, Sky, B & Q, John Lewis, Curry’s PC World, JD Sports and hundreds of others will generate a commission that goes back to their chosen club. In some cases, clubs have earned over £1,500 in a 3-month period.

As well as shopping online, registered members can raise funds for their clubs by shopping in-store however, at present this is only available in the north east of Scotland but partnerships with retail, leisure and hospitality outlets will be in place across the country when Covid-19 restrictions ease.

The commission paid to swimming clubs is automatically taken at the till-point, so the member does not need to do anything except present their securely linked payment card as normal.

This brand-new way of helping local and national clubs and sports organisations raise money has also been welcomed by the Irish Football Association, Scottish Hockey, Ulster Hockey, Bowls Scotland and Netball NI, amongst other big clubs and national governing bodies.

Sharon MacDonald, Director of Development at Scottish Swimming commented:

“It’s great to have a Fundraising partner on board to support our clubs. Given the pandemic we find ourselves in, it is especially important to explore and offer different routes to help clubs fundraise and this seems a relatively simple option that clubs can benefit from so we would encourage clubs and members to sign up.”

“Signing up to Fantastic Fanatics does not cost the club or members anything and it is simple and easy to use. We hope our clubs and members get on board and utilise the platform to generate much an extremely welcome new revenue stream.”

“Many of us shop with the big retailers online, so it’s easy for members to get involved straight away and start raising money for their swimming clubs in their communities.”

Fantastic Fanatics, Operations Director, Barry Munro added:

We are delighted to have partnered with Scottish Swimming and are pleased to play a part in helping to raise funds to support clubs and the development of swimming across all of Scotland. Hopefully, Fantastic Fanatics can further support the amazing things Scottish Swimming and their affiliated clubs are doing in and out of the pool”.

Our innovative and secure platform delivers a new revenue stream to clubs, trusts and organisations, and we aim to grow our platform alongside Scottish Swimming. This partnership will help us deliver a wider range of online and instore retail, leisure and hospitality partners that will ultimately give club members the biggest and best choice of where and how to generate funds for their club.

The technology behind Fantastic Fanatics makes things so simple for the members, as they can choose the association or club they want to support, make a purchase at one of their favourite online retailers and generate a commission, all with a few clicks of the mouse.”

“Our in-store offering will be nationwide in the near future and offers further flexibility on how to generate club funds – there is no extra card or app required and it’s business as usual at the point of sale for the consumer and the retailer. Ultimately, Fantastic Fanatics enables sports clubs and organisations to worry less about the finances and get on with what they do best – delivering the benefits of sport to their participants, fans and members.”
