GBR medley relay team on hunt for golden finale

Today’s final heat’s session from the swimming meet of the Tokyo Olympic Games finished with the GBR quartet of Luke Greenbank, James Wilby, James Guy and Duncan Scott cruising into the final of the 4x100m medley relay.

Both Greenbank and Scott had swum earlier in the day, both winning Olympic medals in their 200m backstroke and 200m IM events respectively. Great Britain are the current World Champions in the event and go into Sunday’s final second fastest, having posted a time of 3:31.47.

In the women’s event there was disappointment for Cassie Wild, Sarah Vasey, Harriet Jones and Freya Anderson who finished ninth overall, missing the top eight qualification spot by just three tenths.

Scottish interest on the penultimate day of swimming action will be in the 4x100m mixed medley relay final, where Kathleen Dawson will lead of the British team.
