Important changes for Scottish Swimming Winter Short Course Meet

Some exciting opportunities for young swimmers have opened at the Scottish Swimming Winter Short Course Meet , 10-12 December at the RCP, Edinburgh.

As a “Closed Meet” for swimmers registered with Scottish Swimming only, we are keen to provide opportunities for youth swimmers to race and maximise the full capacity of the afternoon sessions. It has been a challenging return to competition and using all the time available is important to give as much racing experience as possible to as many swimmers as we can.

Entries for the Scottish Winter Meet have closed, consequently, the opportunities we are offering cover a targeted number of youth events each day, namely all 200m and 400m events. The events will be swum in the sessions as per the Winter Meet programme. The additional events will be swum after the completion of the published programme in the afternoon sessions.

The updated entry standards for youth swimmers are listed below and the entry system will be open until 12.30pm on Friday 3rd December 2022.

National Coach, Alan Lynn, welcomed the additional racing opportunities by saying...

"The chance for youth swimmers to swim at a top-class Senior Meet and race alongside the very best swimmers in Scotland doesn’t happen often for some younger swimmers. This unique opportunity presented because of our response to the pandemic is a must for all budding National level swimmers. Get your entry in and finish a challenging couple of years on a high with some great PBs!"
