Take your marks! Swimmers to descend on Tollcross to battle it out for places on Team Scotland

The Countdown to the Scottish Gas National Open Swimming Championships on 3 – 6 April is underway

The Scottish Gas National Open Swimming Championships will be held at Tollcross International Swimming Centre from Thursday 3 to Sunday 6 April 2014. The event will showcase the best of Scottish Swimming with current stars and future champions racing at Tollcross International Swimming Centre, a world-class competition venue. It provides the perfect opportunity to watch swimmers as they battle it out for places in Team Scotland.

Tickets from as low as £4 for individual heats and £6 for finals can be bought online now at www.ticketmaster.co.uk/scottishswimming or by phone to 08444 999 990. Morning heats start at 8.45 each day, afternoon heats at 13.15 and finals at 17.30, a 10% discount applies if five or more sessions are bought over the phone. Swimming is Scotland’s most successful sport at the Commonwealth Games with 12 medals being won in Melbourne (2006) and 7 in Delhi (2010), including gold medals for Hannah Miley (400m IM) and Robbie Renwick (200m freestyle).

“The Year of Glasgow is already shaping up to be one of the best in our recent history with swimming set to take centre stage. I am sure the people of Glasgow will turn out in large numbers to roar our swimmers on to success.”
