“This is going to be a world-class event and providing digital video content is a great asset to inform and entertain" (Forbes Dunlop, CEO Scottish Swimming)

Scottish Swimming is broadcasting all sessions live from forthcoming Scottish Gas National Open Swimming Championships via YouTube.

Scottish Swimming will be streaming all the action live online throughout the course of the four-day Scottish Gas National Open Championships at Tollcross International Swimming Centre from 3 - 6 April 2014 over the world’s largest video sharing platform, YouTube. The stream will be available at the governing body’s YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/scottishswimming free of charge, as well as on the Scottish Swimming’s website at www.scottishswimming.com/live.

Drew Gordon, a regular voice at international swimming events on Eurosport, will be fronting the team of commentators across the four days of competition, alongside Commonwealth Games swimmers (Melbourne 2006) David Leith and Rob Lee, both now retired from competitive swimming and working at sportscotland Institute of Sport and Royal Bank of Scotland respectively.

With the event doubling as a selection meet for Team Scotland the elite of Scottish swimming talent will be in action, including Olympic silver medallist, Michael Jamieson, World Champion Hannah Miley and fellow Olympians Robbie Renwick, Caitlin McClatchey and Craig Benson.

With only three Team Scotland places available for each individual event, finals are set to provide some thrilling racing.

Forbes Dunlop, CEO of Scottish Swimming, sees the continued commitment to live streaming as a huge opportunity for the sport in Scotland:

“This is going to be a world-class event and providing digital video content is a great asset to inform and entertain not only our members and shareholders, but also swimming fans across the globe ahead of a Home Games in 2014.

"We are delighted to be working with Quipu TV once again, not only for this event, but the final two days of the Commonwealth Water Polo Championships in Aberdeen, and look forward to the quality broadcast they have provided us with at our National Swimming Championships for the past 12 months.”

Tickets from as low as £4 for individual heats and £6 for finals can be bought online now at www.ticketmaster.co.uk/scottishswimming  or by phone to 08444 999 990.
